Darts checkouts
The highest checkout in darts: 170
The biggest finish you can throw is 170 — two treble 20s and the bullseye, the famous “big fish”. Above 170 there's no valid three-dart double-out, so 170 is the ceiling.

Why 170 is the maximum
The two setup darts can score at most T20 + T20 = 120, and the finishing dart must be a double — the biggest being the 50 bullseye (a “double bull”). Add them up: 60 + 60 + 50 = 170. There's no legal three-dart combination above that, which is why 170 is the highest checkout.
Can you check out 171 or more?
No. You can score 180 (three treble 20s), but that uses all three darts on trebles, leaving none for a double — so it isn't a checkout. Scores of 171–180 can't be finished in three darts, and seven scores below 170 are bogey numbers with no finish at all.
The big finishes from 170 down
The table above lists the highest checkouts and their recommended routes — each one straight from the same solver that powers the calculator. The bull finishes (170, 167, 164, 161) are the showpieces; the rest land two big scores before a finishing double or the bull.
